Winning the Best Land-based Casino Operator of the Year award is a true recognition for the years of hard work done by the whole team of Olympic Entertainment Group. Last year showed that the right decisions and all our efforts made during the years of global economic crisis had given us a strong competitive advantage and comparing to the period before the recession, we have increased market shares in almost all of the countries where we operate. 2012 was also remarkable for entering the Italian market and breaking into the so-called Old European market where we now aim to gain even more foothold.

A no and yes secured me a position as an unpaid trainee croupier at Charlie Chesters. South Latin America & Caribbean, Europe, Middle East & Africa that a lot of regions to cover you must rack up a lot of air miles?

Enough to take myself around the world a couple of times I am sure. I just wish I had the time to use them! When you are responsible for three of the major continents in the world, you soon get to experience every major airport and airline that operates and so many time zones that you forget where you are on occasion. Even with all of this, I do consider that I have one of the best jobs in the industry.

What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?

Seminole Gaming and CEO Jim Allen are on the move in the U.S. and in no small way by David McKee

Florida’s Seminole Tribe is feeling bullish about the future of its gambling operations, including its two Hard Rock-branded casinos. On Dec.20, it bestowed a five-year contract extension upon CEO James F. Allen, and granted shorter extensions to Hard Rock International CEO Hamish Dodds (three years) and Seminole Gaming CFO Brad Buchanan. In an additional spate of executive hiring, it snapped up former Borgata president Larry Mullin, installing him as Seminole Gaming’s chief operating officer. Projects either going up or in development under the Hard Rock imprimatur literally span the globe from Hungary to the city of Haikou, in China.

Your 9 months 2012 financial results are very encouraging. Do you think that gaming has become more an “affordable” entertainment expense in Europe or is it just that Olympic – with its focus on gaming and entertainment - taps into a market that is part of consumers everyday expenditure?
